Here's a chance for you to express your opinion on which sign design is most effective. A sign design often contains a derivative or element of an organization's logo or brand. It can be subtle, oversized, or repeated in a pattern to reinforce the brand image. Often a slogan, mission statement, or descriptive phrase is incorporated as well. Reading Orthodontic Group wanted to reinforce their brand message inside their facility with our DimensionPrint technology:

Is the new Philadelphia Zoo monument a sign, a statue, or sculpture?

Jill Metzger from geckogroup, designer of the monument, thinks calling it a sign does not do the monument justice. When they did research for a placemaking and wayfinding project for the zoo, gecko staff found that the images of the zoo that people shared on social media contained photos of themselves with animals, but unlike other zoos, the images contained no zoo identification or branding. The goal of this project was to fix that.

Has your sign design work gotten a little stale lately? are you in a rut, finding yourself selecting materials from the same libraries or websites, and recycling ideas from previous work? One Meridian at Spring Ridge wasn't always the premier Class AAA corporate center in Berks County PA. It started out as a bank headquarters, who was then gobbled up by another bank, and then another, and then it closed in 2002, 22 years after it was built.

It sat as a white elephant for years until BPG development bought it in 2006. The developer, since renamed Equus Capital Partners, knew it was unlikey that they would be able to entice a large corporation to relocate to the site, so it invested 8 million to renovate the facility into a multi tenant building.

Pedestrian and vehicular traffic need to considered from each direction on a busy street. These apartment building number signs are seven feet tall each. Do you think they are big enough?

Some people are surprised when they learn that Corona Extra is the best selling imported beer in America. It isn't because it is the best tasting, as most people put a lime wedge in the bottle to give it some flavor. It has to be their marketing. The TV ads do a good job of helping you imagine being in a more relaxing place than you currently are, a white sandy beach overlooking aqua blue tropical water, with the sounds of seagulls and crashing waves. It's successful because it makes you think opening a beer bottle is a little vacation.

Corbin Design defines wayfinding as "The orderly structuring of information needed to help people comfortably and successfully access an environment. Signage, when designed in an aesthetic appropriate to the surroundings, provides an effective method to communicate wayfinding information to specific
audiences. We think of signs as both a practical necessity and a public relations tool." Corbin was the designer of this L&H fabricated wayfinding system at a community college in central Pennsylvania.

This wayfinding system has been designed for the first-time visitors because their first impression cannot be undone. The department of transportation signage on public roads was evaluated as being acceptable to guiding a visitor to the general location of the campus. One of the issues with the campus was that there are several entrances for vehicles but the main entrance was not differentiated. Vehicle entrance signage looked like this:
