Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA recently upgraded their campus wayfinding system with the Help of Cloud Gehshan Associates Environmental Graphic Design and L&H Companies. The system is comprised of three main components. On the main road entering the campus, there are prominent welcome signs featuring the LVC logotype and crest. The reverse side of these signs thanks people for visiting as they leave. There are also metallic channel letters on a large landscaping feature identifying LVC at the north entrance under a pedestrian bridge that spans the main road. The other components are comprised of vehicular wayfinding and pedestrian wayfinding systems. The north side of the campus is where the majority of new visitors are likely to visit because this area has the sports facilities. At the entrance, there is a convenient pull-off area where visitors can temporarily park while determining where to go on the campus map sign alongside the parking spaces. The vehicular wayfinding signs feature a watermarked logo crest on the reverse side not facing traffic which is a signature Cloud Gehshan design feature. The pedestrian wayfinding system features complete campus map graphics at primary entry decision points and smaller text based signs featuring a partial map at secondary decision making points. The entire system features cantilevered sign faces that add a dimensional aspect to the design. One sided signs feature LVC branding on the reverse.
